Two very decorative and well coloured maps of Guernsey and Jersey on one sheet, with an inset of the Channel Islands as a group. There are vignettes of St. Peter’s Port, Castle Cornet, the Druidical Altar near L’Ancresse, a view on Jersey and Mont Orgueil Castle. Some small tears and nicks to the edge of the sheet not affecting the engraved area.

Britannia Depicta was one of a number of reduced versions of Ogilby’s monumental survey of the roads of England and Wales, first published in 1675, issued in the early eighteeth century. It was the only one, however, to include county maps as well as road maps and proved extremely popular.
